As we prepare to start our adventures in the promised land I thought I would explain the why, when and where.

In July 2012 I started with a new survey company called CORE Geomatics Group Inc. I was glad to find a company that was pushing the bounds of my industry. One of the benefits with CORE is that all the employees are virtual. I work with people from all over every day. The ability to work from anywhere was tantalising!!! In January 2013 we first started to discuss the possibility of living in the Mayan (Nephite) and Olmec (Jaredite) lands of Mexico. Well everything has come together and we are now nearing our departure date of July 1, 2013. We will be living in the city of Merida, Mexico. It is the capital of the Yucatan about 3 hours west of Cancun. We chose Merida because of the safety and the quality of the schooling and health care.

I didn't think we would ever have this opportunity like most everyone else but it came and I would like to share the experience with anyone that is interested through this blog. I am not a good writer but I hope you enjoy the posts I will make throughout the coming year.
